Rusty Whittaker is a Partner and Executive Wealth Manager at Genesis Wealth Management. For more than 15 years Rusty has been an advisor for a select group of individuals, families, businesses and institutions. Throughout his career, Rusty has prioritized building deep, long-lasting relationships with his clients so he can be there when they need him most. He believes by leading with education, he can help make the complex simple for his clients. Prior to joining Genesis, Rusty was a Wealth Manager for USAA in Austin, where he provided comprehensive wealth management services to USAA’s high net-worth families.
Rusty earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he was an outfielder on the baseball team. He earned his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Bill Munday School of Business at St. Edward's University in Austin. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) practitioner and is passionate about continuing to educate himself to better serve his clients.
Rusty lives in Bee Cave with his wife Laci and three kids, Westin, Desiree & Juliette. As a family, they enjoy travelling, fishing, amusement parks, theatre shows and most of all playing golf at Spanish Oaks and Bluejack National.
Rusty and Laci have an innate desire to make an impact on the community in which they live and raise their children. Their philanthropic passions focus around children, education, financial literacy, and athletics. Most recently, they have had an opportunity to assist with initiatives for the Center for Child Protection, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CF), Houston Baptist Golf Team, and St. Jude’s. In 2021, Rusty was chosen as an Austin’s Finest Honoree by the CF Foundation.
